Custom Leather Book Covers
For a while now I've been drooling over leather book covers and finally decided to cut up some hide and try one out. My first attempt was definitely a challenge as I did not accommodate for the thickness of the leather (5mm) when measuring space for the inside pockets. This is my second attempt with an additional 1/2" in the pockets and it fit like a glove. Of course, I'm going to use one of my favorite books of all time, the first Lord of the Rings novel: Fellowship of the Ring. What's my favorite part of the book? Why the maps and Moria of course. The once thriving dwarven civilization now abandoned to the darkness that dwells in the depths. I decided to do some loop stitching on this one but I can do a standard stich as well if you like the beveled edge look. Would love to talk to more people and get their favorite books covered, so reach out!
