Website Refresh – PSCSW
I was approached to help this client because they had, long ago, lost any kind of meaningful contact with their website service provider. Which is an unfortunately common occurrence in the industry.
They were not happy with the lack of communication and upon further investigation, we found several broken and outdated plugins/technologies. Doing the refresh was more than just a content issue, their User accounts and Events widgets did not connect to one another and Memberships had to be carried over and manually updated. We decided to use a service called Wild Apricot, which is a CRM, to bring everything together. Membership signups/renewals, posting events, and gathering payments for tickets, as well as User accounts and a Members-only section for documents and content. The end result is a fully integrated CRM and payment portal connected to a simple but robust WordPress install on WPEngine. The host's daily backups and constant vigilance on security issues were a great fit for PSCSW and I will continue to stay on and do content and maintenance on the site for the foreseeable future.
